MYTH:
Waking up in the middle of the night is a sign
of a sleep disorder.

TRUTH:
Sometimes, yes. People with highly fragmented
sleep may have a sleep disorder like sleep apnea.

Waking up once in the middle of the night, however,
might be your body just doing what it was wired to do.

Before the invention of the light bulb, humans typically
woke up in the middle of the night for 1 to 3 hours.
They slept for about 4 hours after the sun went down.
Then woke up for a couple hours in the middle of the night.
Then went back to bed for another 4 before the sunrise.

Waking up once or twice during the night might just be
your body trying to revert back to the old ways.
Jeff?
